Leadership

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:28)

Good News is a mission work of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Glenside. Until Good News is fully established (in Presbyterian lingo, “particularized”), Calvary’s elders serve as the leadership (session) of Good News. Four of these elders, three of whom live in the Norristown area, make up a committee devoted to the care of Good News. Meet our elders!

Mark Bube and his wife Kathy moved from Oregon to Pennsylvania in 1991 for Mark to serve as the general secretary of the OPC’s Committee on Foreign Missions, retiring in 2022.  Since 1994, he has served as a ruling elder at Calvary OPC in Glenside.  They live in Jenkintown, PA, enjoy opportunities for hospitality, and have recently adopted a new puppy.

Brent Jeffries and his wife Coral moved to Pennsylvania in 2021. Prior to that they lived in Asheville, North Carolina for 30 years where Brent was an elder in their PCA church and a gastroenterologist, and where they raised their four children (including son Nate). They are now retired and live in West Norriton, PA. They love riding bikes on the Schuylkill River Trail and have recently taken up pickleball. A recent place they enjoy exploring is the wonderful John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove.

Nate and Amy Jeffries, elder, pastor, Westminister Seminary Mdiv

Nate Jeffries serves full time as a pastor and evangelist at Good News. Nate grew up in North Carolina, went to college in Rhode Island, and moved to Arizona to teach English and Latin. In Arizona, he met his wife Amy. Nate and Amy were married in 2016, and a year later they moved to Amy’s home state of Texas, where Nate continued to teach Latin. They came to Pennsylvania for seminary and stayed for Good News. Nate and Amy have four children, Enoch, Sojourner, Kyria, and Wisdom. They live in East Norriton, PA, where they enjoy reading, gardening, soccer, Elmwood Park Zoo, and picnics in Norristown Farm Park.

Paul Woo is married to Joy and they have a son, Ezra and reside in East Norriton, PA. Paul graduated with his Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2023 and is now a PhD student in historical and theological studies at Westminster. The Woos enjoy taking a walk around the Norristown Farm Park and Paul loves the coffee at Ebru Coffee Roasters in Audubon. They both like good food and meeting new people!
